Chapter Wise Weightage for NEET Chemistry!!

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test(NEET) is conducted every year for medical students to get admission into the best premier medical institutes of India i.e. AIIMS. The difficulty level of this examination is quite higher than other medical entrance examinations for admission into undergraduate medical programs.

According to the analysis of the NEET previous year question papers examination. It can be said that the chemistry section is scoring than the other two sections. Questions asked in this section are less tricky and easy to solve. Most of the questions asked in NEET chemistry are from NCERT and most of them are direct in nature. So it is a must for the NEET aspirant to go through NCERT multiple times.

Syllabus for NEET Chemistry

  1. Physical chemistry
  2. Organic chemistry
  3. Inorganic chemistry

Physical Chemistry

This is a numerically based section. This section acquires great importance because approx 15 to 20 questions are asked in NEET chemistry from this section. Chemical equilibrium, Redox reaction, solutions and electrochemistry are the important chapters in this section. If you want to get a decent score in this section then do not neglect the importance of these chapters. NCERT Solutions help you to understand the concepts of physical chemistry more accurately.

Organic Chemistry

This section also consists of 15 to 20 questions. Chapters like general organic chemistry and isomerism carry greater weightage in the NEET examination. Before starting solving these chapters you must have a great handle on hydrocarbons, aldehyde, amine and alkyl halides. Read NCERT for conceptual learning and practice chapter-wise MCQs for a better understanding of concepts.

Inorganic Chemistry

Students generally avoid this section in a blind belief that fewer questions would be asked from this section but if you analyze the previous year’s question you will find that approx 7 to 8 questions have been asked in the examination. Understand the concepts from NCERT and practice the previous year’s questions to ace this section.
